New York City Day 1

For any of you that might be reading this and don't live in New York I want you to follow this link so you understand the following; when someone says that they are from New York, please don't expect them to be from the City! The state of New York is quite big. I lived in Rochester, New York for more than 20 years before I made it to New York City. Enough of the geography lesson onto the trip.

I decided to go to NYC for a trip this summer to visit some friends that I hadn't seen in awhile. So I took off from Rochester at 5:00. As we taxied down the runway the plane began to slow, and then it stopped. The wonderful pilots came on the speaker and told us that we had to delay our take off for a while (15 minutes to an hour), due to some bad weather over Albany. Being the optimist that I am I turned to the gentleman next to me, heading home to NYC, and told him I would bet we would be off in 15 minutes. An hour and fifteen minutes later we began to take off to NYC. Oh well can't change the weather! (Note to all of you travelers out there that get down on airlines for this. When the weather is a problem trust me it is a legitimate problem. I worked on aircraft for four years and there was many a day that flights never left due to the weather.) I arrived in NYC at about 8:30 and by the time I arrived at my buddies place it was about 10 o'clock. So it was off to grab a slice of Vodka pizza, good stuff. After which it was a directly to the Johnson's, a nice little bar in NYC. I called up another friend, and she meet us out there to. After a Guinness and a few PBRs we headed home. The next day I found out that my buddy decided that it would be an interesting experiment to see how bleach tasted! What the???? Though I shouldn't put this past him, he also wanted to see if his tongue would stick to a ski lift bar, and found that the answer was yes!
